Maggie went into heat and although I knew I needed to keep an eye out for stray males, imagine my surprise to see this guy:


After about killing myself to get Maggie in the house, he stuck around for a bit. Apparently, Miss Maggie attracted the neighbors Min-Pin too, and the coyote didn't think much of that! I thought he was stalking a rabbit and then I saw the little black dog crouched in the grass take off running like I'd never seen a dog run in my life! Luckily for the Min-Pin, Mr. Coyote wasn't hungry, just proving his alpha-male status on his territory. Unlucky for me, I'll probably see that Min-Pin another thousand times since he seems to escape his owners quite frequently. As for Maggie, she's whining in her crate. Seems she was keen on the idea of Golden Retriever Coyote pups. I'm sure they'd have a cute moniker: Goldyote pups? not something I'd particularly like to learn more about anyway.
