Well it's been HOT HOT HOT, as Madelyn says. So we've been spending our time between the Splash Park and pool in our backyard

Thought of the day....

When your first baby starts solid foods, you carefully orchestrate their first tastes and you jump every time they gag. The second child gets his first tastes from stealing Cheerios off of the first child and you've since relaxed about the gagging...it is a natural reflex afterall. You realize your third child is ready for finger foods when you catch him eating dry cat food while the other two laugh hysterically.

Camping!

We went camping at a nearby State Park for Jeremy's bike race. It was a bit of a last minute decision and we forgot a few things but overall it was a whole lot of fun!

Great weather - it was sunny and beautiful, a little sticky on Saturday but gorgeous on Sunday. We had a thunderstorm that night, and it blew through in about 10 minutes. The thunder was AWESOME. It was echoing in the valley and was one of the coolest things I've ever heard. The kids slept right through it!

The kids did pretty good about sleeping that night. They were a bit overexcited and fell asleep late, but they slept all night. At dusk, I saw something walking about 5 feet behind Jeremy, coming right into the camp! I thought it was a dog or a baby bear it was so big! It was the biggest raccoon I've EVER seen. Jeremy scared him off but I heard him come back in the middle of the night. We were prepared for him. I wish I would've gotten a pic tho.

Jeremy had a good race and the kids and I went swimming at the pool. Other than our mattress having a hole in it and not being prepared enough with hot food to eat, we had a great time and want to do it again soon.
