What's Blooming at our House

So after a few oh so subtle reminders of how I haven't updated the blog, and since I value my supplier of finely embroidered tablecloths, I will update now.

First off I would like to introduce the newest member to our family: Willow, the siamese kitty. WAH!!! You say? A CAT?? Aren't you allergic? Why, yes. Yes I am. But I love cats and little baby things and we had cats for 4 years before I even realized I'm allergic so I figured maybe getting a little desensitized would be a good thing. So far, it hasn't been bad at all...a little sneezing here and there when Willow is lovey but mostly I just have to remember to wash my hands.

So here is Willow, our free little kitty we got from a friend. I believe she is what is called a "seal-point siamese" because of her coloring. She is oh so lovey (not at all like our previous neurotic cats) and I think it's because we got her from a family and not a pet store, barn or humane shelter like our last pets that didn't fit well with our family. Willow is very "talkative" and lets you know when she wants something. I believe she has adopted me as her mama (imagine that...the one who is allergic to her LOL) and she will walk up to me, mew and hold up her little paw when she wants to be picked up! She is so patient with the kids who are learning that throwing a cat is NOT funny no matter how much it makes you giggle.

This is Willow before we got her, she stayed with her cat mama for 8 weeks.


First day home, she fell asleep next to Jonas' head while he napped on the floor.

Garden update: we've been attacked by rabbits. I've been able to salvage some but the broccoli, sugar snap peas and pumpkins biffed it. Well I can't technically blame the rabbits for the pumpkins directly, however I'm sure the stress of losing my beloved vegetables played a major role in the carelessness toward the planted too early pumpkins.

Uncle Erik and Aunt Peggy came to visit! We seemed to have forgotten how to use a camera so we have this one picture of the guys. Although I think the cuteness of it makes up for the lack of other pictures...

What's Going On

Not much. We've just been excited about the nice warm change in the weather, so much so that even this yucky cold hasn't held us back too much. We've gone to play soccer, Jeremy biked, we went to the Earth Day Celebration, planted some of the garden including flowers this year! The kids are amazing us every day with what they are learning and how big they are getting.

Madelyn and Jonas are both very fond of Hudson. They still both always want to "be with him" and as Jonas says "I wanna keep him"


Jonas is very much a Momma's lil Buddy. He likes to cuddle with me whenever he isn't playing with his big sister. He also likes to practice everything we do. If I am making dinner he is right there helping and he also likes to help with all the chores!


Check out Madelyn's page for the latest pics of her at 4.5 years old including this one! She is really loving dance class and it is so adorable. There is something very relaxing about watching a bunch of 4 year olds in pink tutus dancing around and giggling. Her recital is June 6th, let me know if anyone wants a copy of the tape!



Here is the garden update:
I transplanted my lettuce spinach mix, green onion, sugar snap peas and garlic and planted some broccoli. My tomatoes are still going strong indoors and I just seeded my peppers too.


I also am planting a flower garden of wild flowers for Madelyn to be able to pick. We started the Sunflower and Daisies indoors a few weeks ago and a couple days ago I spread some seed. So far so good!


I've been keeping busy trying my hand at creating things from knitting to sewing to culinary surprises. And of course running after 3 little ones LOL

and tonights dinner - Shrimp and Andouille Sausage Jambalaya...verdict - it's a keeper!


Jonas finally let me take some good pics of him, they've been on his page for a week or so now, but if you haven't seen them I highly recommend you do! He looks so much more like a little boy and less like a baby now.


And of course little Hudson has some cute pics of him on his page too. He is really enjoying his first tastes of nice weather and literally tastes of grass LOL He is trying to put everything into his mouth..toes - his or one of his siblings, grass, dirt, food, clothing...anything within grabbing distance and we've had to learn the hard way not to put glasses of water near him.


I'm trying to keep this updated as much as possible and hopefully I will be able to get a lot of good photos as we get out of the house more often. YAY winter is over!!!! **knock on wood**
